How is the DET scored?
Objective tasks are marked against the answer key, item by item. The conversion to the exam’s scale uses the published tables where the test owner publishes them and our own documented estimate where it does not. Speaking and writing are scored per component by our own engine, following the exam’s published scoring guide, and mapped onto the scale below.

- Is the DET accepted by universities?
- Yes — thousands of universities and colleges accept the Duolingo English Test, including most major US, UK, Canadian and Australian institutions. Acceptance is set per programme rather than per university, so check the page of the programme you are applying to.
- How many DET mock tests do I get?
- Fifteen full-length mocks, each 64 screens in the current DET format, all AI-scored on the 10–160 scale with a per-task breakdown.
