How each task is scored, the strategies that move the score, and worked low- vs high-scoring examples.
Read Aloud

Read the guideWrite From Dictation

Read the guideMock Test Strategy
Stop taking mocks for reassurance. Use them as diagnostic instruments — schedule, review, log, and re-test. Here is a four-week plan built around that loop.
Read the guideHow is the PTE scored?
Objective tasks are marked against the answer key, item by item. The conversion to the exam’s scale uses the published tables where the test owner publishes them and our own documented estimate where it does not. Speaking and writing are scored per component by our own engine, following the exam’s published scoring guide, and mapped onto the scale below.
| Skill | Scale | What is measured |
|---|---|---|
| Speaking | 10–90 | Oral fluency, pronunciation, content — AI scored. |
| Writing | 10–90 | Grammar, vocabulary, written discourse. |
| Reading | 10–90 | Skim, scan, infer — marked per item, converted to the 10–90 scale. |
| Listening | 10–90 | Comprehension across native accents. |

Questions about PTE
- Is the AI score close to the real PTE result?
- Hilingo's scoring is built task by task on Pearson's published scoring guide, per component, on the real 10–90 scale. Pearson neither publishes nor licenses its model, so treat the number as a well-founded estimate for finding weak spots and tracking movement, not as a prediction of your official result.
- Can I take a free mock?
- Yes — your first scored mock is free, no card required.
- How many mocks do I get on Premium?
- Unlimited full-length mocks plus sectional drills for the duration of your plan.
