How is the IELTS scored?
Objective tasks are marked against the answer key, item by item. The conversion to the exam’s scale uses the published tables where the test owner publishes them and our own documented estimate where it does not. Speaking and writing are scored per component by our own engine, following the exam’s published scoring guide, and mapped onto the scale below.
| Skill | Scale | What is measured |
|---|---|---|
| Listening | 0–9 | Half-band scoring per IELTS. |
| Reading | 0–9 | Half-band scoring per IELTS. |
| Writing | 0–9 | TR · CC · LR · GRA breakdown. |
| Speaking | 0–9 | Fluency · Lexical · Grammar · Pronunciation. |

Questions about IELTS
- Do you support Academic and General Training?
- Both are live. They share the Listening paper, and each has its own Reading passages and its own Writing Task 1 — a report for Academic, a letter for General Training. Reading is converted on the table for the variant you picked, because the General table is harder at the top.
- How close is the band to a real IELTS band?
- Listening and Reading are converted using the published indicative tables, and Writing and Speaking are scored on the four official criteria. IELTS itself publishes those tables as indicative and adjusts them per paper, so treat the result as a well-founded estimate of your band, not an official one.
- Can I practise Writing on paper?
- Yes. Take a photo of your handwritten answer and the engine reads it and scores it on the same four criteria, so paper-based candidates are not stuck typing.
