Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website hilingo.com, the Hilingo web and mobile applications, and any related services that link to or reference these Terms (collectively, the "Platform"). The Platform is operated by Central Business & Technology Inc. (operating as Hilingo), a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada with its registered office at Office 680, 145 1/2 Church Street, Unit 5, Toronto, ON M5B 1Y4, Canada ("Hilingo", "we", "us", "our").

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you — the visitor, user, student or institute account holder ("you", "the user") — and Hilingo. By accessing, browsing or using the Platform in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on the Platform. We will not send individual notices for each change. Any amended Terms replace all previous versions. If you do not agree to a change, you should immediately stop using the Platform. Continued use after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of and agreement to the amended Terms.

Nature of our service

Hilingo is an online practice platform for English language proficiency exams (PTE Academic, PTE Core, IELTS, CELPIP, OET, LanguageCert, Duolingo English Test and similar). We provide practice material, mock tests, AI-scored feedback and study tools. We are an e-learning service provider — we do not deliver any in-person training, coaching or classroom services ourselves.

Hilingo's responsibilities are limited to:

• Providing the services described on the Platform.
• Providing customer support to users where possible or required.

Hilingo's responsibilities do not cover:

• Third-party class providers' actual start and end times.
• Third-party class providers' employee conduct, competence or absence.
• The actual quality of any third-party class provider's service.
• Third-party class providers' cancellation or rescheduling of classes.
• Injuries or loss of property arising in connection with any third-party class.

Your warranties

When transacting with us on the Platform or creating an account, you warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age (or using the Platform under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has consented).
• You are using your actual identity.
• The personal data you have provided to us is true, accurate, complete and current.
• You will maintain and promptly update your personal particulars to keep them accurate.

Users under 18 may not use the Platform or provide personal data unsupervised. If you are under 18, you may only use the Platform with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

Acceptable use

By accessing or using the Platform you guarantee that:

• Your use of the Platform is for your own lawful, personal purposes; you are solely responsible for any harm or misinterpretation of the Platform's content arising from your use.
• You have only a limited right to use the Platform and no right to modify, reproduce, copy, distribute, sell, resell or otherwise exploit any part of it for commercial purposes.
• You will use the Platform and any products or services purchased through it for personal, non-commercial use only, and will not re-sell access to anyone else.
• You will not use meta tags, hidden text or any other device referencing Hilingo's name or trademarks without our prior written consent.
• You will not use the Platform for any fraudulent purpose or in connection with a criminal offence or other unlawful activity.
• You will not upload, send, post, share or reuse any material that is illegal, offensive, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, harassing, hateful, obscene, abusive, deceptive, misleading, harmful to minors, malicious software, or otherwise objectionable.

Your account

Hilingo offers user accounts linked to your email and/or phone number. By registering you agree that:

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for restricting access to the devices you use.
• You accept responsibility for all activity carried out under your account.
• You will notify us immediately at support@hilingo.com if you believe your password has been compromised or is being used without authorisation.
• You will provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
• We will not be liable for any loss arising from your failure to notify us of a security breach on your account.
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to your use of the Platform.
• Hilingo may refuse access, suspend or terminate accounts, or remove or edit content at any time without notice if we reasonably believe an account is being used for unauthorised purposes.

Third-party links

While using the Platform you may encounter links to advertisers, partners, sponsors or other third parties. By accessing any third-party website you consent to that third party's terms and policies. Hilingo has no control over, and accepts no responsibility for, the practices of any third-party sites or services. Any correspondence or transaction with a third party is solely your responsibility.

Electronic communications

When you use the Platform or send us emails or other data, you agree that you are communicating with us electronically and consent to receive communications from us — by email or other electronic means — periodically and as required. Notices we send to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
